Google has launched Street Art Project which allows you to discover and browse street art around the world. Just click on the map to view a particular area in their ever-evolving collection, or browse by artist.
Google's Lucy Schwartz explains the vision behind it on the official Google blog:
"Here today, gone tomorrow. The transient nature of street art means it can be at risk of being scrubbed out and lost forever to its legions of fans. But long after the paint has faded from the walls, technology can help preserve street art, so people can discover it wherever and whenever they like."
Street Art Project is an extension of the Google Art Project, which allows you to 'walk into' museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Van Gogh Museum, and explore the exhibits.
This is rather awesome. Good on you Google, and well done.
